This website is for women over the age of 40, who are thinking about, or who are learning how to run.
I created my book, Women Learn to Run, because I have got so much unexpectedly out of running and all of the other exercise manuals out there that are written for people under 30, men, or both. I also wanted people to know that you can take up challenges – like running – at a later age, and thrive!
It surprises many of my friends that I’m now a runner – some of them went through a phase of running about 15-20 years ago. I’m really happy to have discovered this later in life – I have no idea how I’d cope with my shifting metabolism otherwise!
I’m not saying that running is always easy, but I do know the joys and the challenges. None of what I write about is simply theory – I’ve been there, I have good days and bad days, and still running is something that gets me fired up, gives me countless fresh ideas for all sorts of projects that I mull over while I’m running…
And importantly, it’s given me a great friendship with my Running Buddy who I met over 3 years ago and who kicks my butt when I need it, and in turn, I’m there to say ‘come on, we can do this’…. on wet days or uninspiring runs.
There’s more to running than just running.
Enjoy! And let me know how you get on – I’d love to know!
